PARAMED Aneroid Sphygmomanometer with Stethoscope – Universal Cuff and Carrying Case
Category: manual blood pressure cuff
The Paramed manual blood pressure cuff is a reliable device for making accurate blood pressure measurements and maintaining good health. This complete blood pressure kit includes all the necessary components: a sphygmomanometer, cuff, stethoscope, bulb and valve, carry bag, calibration key, and user manual.
The cuff is designed for comfort and convenience, measuring 42 cm in length to accommodate people of all statures. Made of superior PVC and polyester, it is completely latex-free. The cuff features a standard D-ring design, allowing for easy adjustment using the stainless steel ring.
The manometer is a high-precision instrument, with a zinc alloy construction ensuring durability and accuracy. It comes equipped with a special fastening tool, enabling you to position the readout at a comfortable eye level.
Proper usage of the sphygmomanometer is key to obtaining reliable blood pressure readings. First, place the cuff 2-3 cm above your elbow on the left arm, ensuring the tubes run along the center of your arm. Wrap the cuff snugly, leaving room for one finger between the cuff and your arm.
Next, put on the stethoscope, making sure the earpieces face forward. Position the stethoscope head on your humeral artery, just above the elbow joint, and secure it using the cuff.
Quickly fill the cuff with air until the pressure reaches your typical upper reading, plus an additional 30 mmHg. Then, gradually release the air at a rate of 2-3 marks per second on the manometer. Listen carefully for the Korotkoff sounds, noting the pressure when you first hear your heartbeat (systolic) and when the sound stops (diastolic).
It is recommended to record your measurements, as this will help you and your doctor analyze your health. Factors that may affect the accuracy of the readings include cuff size, clothing, lack of rest, unsupported limbs, talking, and a full bladder.
The kit also includes a small calibration key that fits into the air-guard opening of the manometer. Carefully rotating the key sideways can adjust the slight movement of the manometer needle, with a range of 6 mmHg from the center of the zero position. However, the key should not be turned in a full circle, as this could damage the mechanism.
In summary, the Paramed manual blood pressure cuff is a comprehensive and reliable tool for monitoring your health. With its comfortable cuff, accurate manometer, and included stethoscope, you can easily take precise measurements at home, work, or while traveling, empowering you to stay on top of your well-being.
